New Delhi, Jan 29 (ANI): Reactions poured in on Thursday as reports emerged that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) allegedly re-converted over 100 tribals to Hinduism in West Bengal. Over a dozen adivasi Christian families - some 100 people, including children - reportedly attended the conversion programme. However, the district administration and senior VHP leaders refused to call it a conversion because none of the adivasis had placed an affidavit for name change. Jan 29, 2015

Congress reacts after Shiv Sena says Hindus will lead India, no place for secularism

New Delhi, Jan 28 (ANI): Congress leader Manish Tewari reacted on Wednesday after Shiv Sena's response to the Republic Day advertisement by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry in which the word 'Secularism' was deleted from Preamble. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that India is a Hindu nation and only Hindus can lead it even though other religions are free to exist. He added that there is no need for secularism in the Constitution. Hindus and Muslims work with religious harmony in rope making unit

Bankura, Jan 26 (ANI): Bankura, located in India's eastern state of West Bengal, is known for communal harmony among people of various faiths. Here people of different communities can be seen working together and maintaining good relations. Many small rope making units dot the region providing employment to several hundred people. A visit to one such rope making unit speaks volumes about the Hindu-Muslim unity. People of both communities work together and report no tensions between them. Owned by a Muslim, this rope making unit employs workers from both communities. The owner claims that he has expanded his business over the years leading to creation of more jobs.
