New Delhi, Nov 6 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been ranked 15th in the Forbes list of world's most powerful people this year. Russian President Vladimir Putin has piped his US counterpart Barack Obama for a second year in a row and is at the top. The list of 72 most powerful people in the world also includes Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani at the 36th position, Arcelor Mittal Chairman and CEO Lakshmi Mittal at 57th and Microsoft's Indian-born CEO Satya Nadella at 64th position. Congress President Sonia Gandhi, who was the highest ranked Indian last year at 21, is no longer a part of the list. Nov 6, 2014

Nita Ambani performs Ganga Aarti in Varanasi on birthday

Varanasi, Nov 02 (ANI): Reliance Industries chief and billionaire Mukesh Ambani's wife, Nita Ambani celebrated her 51st birthday in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency, Varanasi. Nita Ambani is also the Founder and Chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, which is the philanthropic arm of Reliance Industries. As a part of the celebrations, Ambanis also attended a special prayer service (religious rituals) at Kashi Vishwanath temple in the holy city. Nita Ambani also performed the Ganga Aarti at the bank of River Ganges. Highlight of the day the famous ritual of lights 'Aarti' at the Dashashwamedh bank of river Ganges, witnessed by the Ambanis and the guests seated in four houseboats, which were especially decked up for the occasion. Indian Postal Banking has lots of scope due to connectivity, says Communications Minister

New Delhi, Oct 29 (ANI): Even with widespread retail banking in place, India's postal banking service has a large scope due to its connectivity, stressed Communications and IT Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday. Prasad was inaugurating the Postal Savings Banks Forum in New Delhi, which was organized by World Savings and Retail Banking Institute (WSBI) jointly with the National Savings Organisation (Ministry of Finance) and the Department of Posts. The theme of the forum was "The Rising Force of Postal Banking in the Retail Banking Market". Prasad said that postal banking transcended the rich and poor barrier, the biggest asset being the network of post offices throughout the country. Japan's SoftBank CEO meets PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 28 (ANI): Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Japan-based telecom giant SoftBank Corporation, Masayoshi Son held a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Son, who was accompanied by a delegation of his company directors, covered many issues during his interaction with Modi. Softbank, one of the major telecom and internet corporations of Japan, will seek opportunities in the sectors of e-commerce and telecom in India.
