Bangalore, July 31 (ANI): A 'bandh' has been called in Bangalore on Thursady to protest the rising crimes against women in the city. The city bore a deserted look as public transport was off the roads and several shops, businesses and restaurants remained closed. Bangalore has been rocked by two shocking crimes recently where minor girls were sexually assaulted, leading to huge protests and a candle light vigil. A massive crowd had gathered on July 19 outside a police station in Bangalore, as the entire city demanded justice for the six-year-old who was allegedly raped inside her school. Jul 31, 2014

Bangalore: Two gym instructors arrested for allegedly raping 6-year-old

Bangalore, July 29 (ANI): Bangalore police have arrested two more gym instructors in connection with the rape case in which a six-year-old had been allegedly raped in school premises. Police commissioner MN Reddi, on Tuesday said that the first grade student was assaulted by Lal Giri and Wasim, who worked as gymnastic instructors in the VIBGYOR High International School. Reddi said so far there was not enough evidence against another suspect, Mustafa alias Munna, who was working as skating instructor in the school since 2011. Bangalore Police Commissioner, M N Reddi, stressed upon upgrading the awareness and knowledge among police officers about POCSO.
