Foreign Secretary arrives in Bangladesh as part of SAARC visit

Dhaka, Mar 02 (ANI): India's Foreign Secretary, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, arrived in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka on Monday (March 02) for a day-long visit as part of his 'SAARC Yatra' (visit). Jaishankar landed in Dhaka on a special flight from Bhutan and was received by his counterpart Md Shahidul Haque at the airport. After Bangladesh, Jaishankar is scheduled to visit Pakistan on March 03 and Afghanistan on March 04. Dhaka and New Delhi are working out a resolution on two long-pending issues with India - the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA), for swapping enclaves into each other's territory, and sharing of Teesta water. Water tanker mows down two people in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Feb 27 (ANI): Two people were killed when a water tanker travelling at a high speed knocked down pedestrians and a stationary motorcycle at a traffic signal in Bengaluru. The accident, which took place near a mall on Bangalore International Airport Road was caught in a CCTV camera near the site. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of East Traffic Division, MNBR Prasad, confirmed two deaths. The driver of the tanker has been arrested and was produced before the magistrate, Prasad informed. The pedestrian, identified as Arpitha, succumbed to her injuries in the hospital while another person riding pillion on a motorcycle, Anand, died on the spot. Ahmedabad, Feb 25 (ANI): Police arrested six people with 60 kilograms of gold bullion in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Joint commissioner of Gujarat, AK Sharma, said the accused came from Dubai by an Emirates flight. Acting on a tip-off, police laid the trap and apprehended them when they were about to leave the airport. Police have launched an investigation to nab their accomplices and masters. Feb 25, 2015
