At least six people were wounded when a gunman opened fire at a sports bar in New Jersey, USA, on 2 December. Comedian Toni Bryd was about five minutes into her stand up routine when bullets rang out into a room with about 30-40 people in it. UK Prime Minister Theresa May has defended making trade deals with Saudia Arabia and Bahrain, despite them being under fire from human rights groups. Speaking on 6 December on HMS Ocean in Bahrain, she said that if Britain was going to influence Gulf leaders and improve human rights in the area, they needed to be engaging with them. Former actress and leader of India’s southern Tamil Nadu State Jayalalithaa Jayaram is being treated for a cardiac arrest suffered on 4 December. 10-alarm fire engulfs buildings in Cambridge, Massachusetts

At least 140 firefighters tried to contain a 10-alarm fire blazing in several buildings.The fire started in a three-family home undergoing renovations, which later collapsed.The fire then spread to seven or eight other buildings and nearby cars.Around 60 people had to be evacuated.
