New Delhi, Dec 09 (ANI): Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office, Dr Jitendra Singh, said on Tuesday that Prime Minister's rally in Srinagar was a historical event for the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the people of Kashmir are answering bullet with ballot. Martyr Sankalp Shukla receives Guard of Honour, Body cremated in Ranchi

Ranchi, Dec 07 (ANI): The martyred soldier Lt Col Sankalp Shukla was given Guard of Honour on Sunday before his body could be cremated. Shukla laid his life fighting against militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri sector on Friday. He had also reportedly sustained bullet injuries in a militant attack about 10 years back. The soldier is survived by his wife and two daughters. A grand wreath laying ceremony was held in Ranchi where a huge crowd gathered to pay floral tribute to the soldier after which, his body was cremated. Dec 7, 2014

India terms Hafiz Saeed's rally in Pakistan as mainstreaming of terrorism

New Delhi, Dec 06 (ANI): India termed Mumbai attacks mastermind and Islamist Hafiz Saeed's rally in Pakistan's Lahore as mainstreaming of militancy.' Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Syed Akbaruddin while addressing mediapersons in New Delhi said that large amount of police personnel were deployed at the event. Akbaruddin said "even train services were given" in a reference to reports that Pakistan Railways operated trains from Hyderabad in the Sindh province and from Karachi for the meet. Thousands attended the two-day congregation organised by Saeed's Jaamat-ud-Dawa at the historical Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore. Saeed is the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a militant group banned in Pakistan but tolerated unofficially and believed to be close to the army. Saeed founded the LeT, which India blames for the rampage in Mumbai, in the 1990s. He has denied involvement in any attacks. Dec 6, 2014
