Buyers throng Tibetan woollen market in Shimla with onset of winter

Shimla, Dec 12 (ANI): Buyers throng the Tibetan market of affordable winter garments in the hill town of Shimla of Himachal Pradesh as mercury dips southwards. People from all walks of life, particularly youngsters, have been rushing to this market which offers a variety of sweaters, jackets, shawls and coats at reasonable rates. Apart from the local customers, a lot of tourists from across the country are also attracted to the market for their winter shopping spree. Like every year, the exiled Tibetan community here is expecting good business during the winter season. The Tibetan community- in- exile in India is mainly dependent upon the winter garment and wool business for their survival. Most of them move to the plains during this season to have a good business. Lawyers continue strike in Delhi courts over delay in tabling of amendment bill

New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): Lawyers in Delhi courts said that they will continue their strike for the third day on Thursday protesting the delay in tabling an amendment bill of enhancing pecuniary jurisdiction of district courts. Chairman of co-ordination committee of bar associations RK Wadhwa said that all the district courts in Delhi, in its emergent meeting last week, decided to abstain from work with effect from December 09, till the bill is tabled in Parliament. The committee said that despite assurances, the proposed bill recommending enhancement of pecuniary jurisdiction to Rs 2 crore for the courts, has found no mention in the agenda of ongoing Winter Session of Parliament. Government in favour of swapping boundaries with India: Bangladesh High Commissioner to India

New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): Bangladesh High Commissioner to India, Syed Muazzem Ali said the government supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to swap territory with Bangladesh and hopes the matter is finalised in the ongoing winter session of the parliament. Ali said Bangladesh is looking forward to the early resolution of Land Border Agreement among many other issues including Teesta river dispute. The Land Border Agreement will benefit the people of Bangladesh living in the country as refugees.
