FM-Banks Meet: Uday Kotak stresses on mutual fund rather than gold and property investment

New Delhi, June 10 (ANI): Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of a leading private bank, Kotak Mahindra, Uday Kotak said on Tuesday that there needs to be a significant boost for India s financial savers and it is important to move people away from property and gold investments to mutual funds. Banking Secretary GS Sandhu said the government is examining all suggestions put forth by the banking institution heads. Chairman and Managing Director of Central Bank of India, Rajeev Rishi, said the discussions were mostly on funding for bank infrastructures and capitalisation and infrared ink issue was discussed in detail. Shivraj Singh Chouhan urges PM to grant more funds and autonomy to MP

New Delhi, June 06 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to grant more funds and autonomy to the state to formulate their own schemes. Singh met Modi at his residence in New Delhi and offered him a shawl as a mark of respect. Both the leaders discussed amendments in the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Gurantee Act (MGNREGA) for asset creation and more focus on irrigation projects. Reportedly, the Rural Development Ministry had planned to identify up to 1,000 blocks across the country where there are no banks or internet connectivity, so that wages under the rural job guarantee scheme can be disbursed in cash.
