Pakistan bound bus meets with accident in Jalandhar

Jalandhar, Dec 10 (ANI): A bus commuting between India's national capital and Pakistani city of Lahore met with minor accident. However, no one is injured. The Pakistan-bound bus collided with a police vehicle on national highway number 1 and two personnel of police received injuries. The accident took place in Kapurthala district near Jalandhar city of Punjab. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mukesh Kumar said total 18 passengers including five females and 13 males were travelling in the bus. The Delhi-Lahore Bus, officially known as Sada-e-Sarhad (Call of the Frontier), is a passenger bus service connecting New Delhi with Lahore, via the border transit post at Wagah border. Dec 10, 2014

Delhi police reaches Mathura to trace accused in Delhi rape case

New Delhi/ Mathura, Dec 07 (ANI): Mathura SSP Manjhil Saini on Sunday said that Delhi police has reached Mathura city of Uttar Pradesh in order to trace Delhi rape accused. Saini said that since the accused is native of Mathura the Delhi police are trying to get the details in the case. Meanwhile, All India Students Association staged protest against Delhi police outside the police headquarters. The protesters also demanded cancellation of the license of the Uber cab services. The angry protesters shouted slogans against police and the political parties for not ensuring safety of women on Delhi streets. Politicos & Social activists demand action against Uber cab driver for alleged rape case in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 07 (ANI): Political leaders on Sunday demanded action against the Uber taxi service driver who allegedly raped a woman who was returning from a dinner party in Gurgaon on Friday night. BJP Spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao said that police is taking action and that the government will not tolerate crime against women. Congress leader Rashid Alvi also condemned the incident and demanded action on the same. Meanwhile, women rights activists and social activists also condemned the incident and said that it is unfortunate that such incident take place under the very nose of the central government. The incident took place at around 9:30 pm when the woman, who works for a finance company in Gurgaon, was headed back to her home in north Delhi's Inderlok area. Dec 7, 2014

Woman allegedly raped by Uber cab driver in Delhi

Mathura, Dec 7 (ANI): A 27-year-old woman was allegedly raped by the driver of a cab that she hired through Uber from Vasant Vihar area. The incident took place when she was returning from Gurgaon on Saturday night. A rape case has been registered at Sarai Rohilla police station and the accused has been booked under Sections 376 (rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC. The cab was later recovered by the Police in Mathura on Sunday along with the driver's mobile phone, which was switched off. According to the reports, the driver has been detained by the police.
