Budding Naga fashion designers showcase their talent at an event in Dimapur

Dimapur, Feb 10 (ANI): Celebrating ten years of its existence, the Dimapur-based Northeast India Academy of Performing Arts (NIAPA) pledges to train and nurture the Northeast youth in fashion technology. Recently, the "Decade plus 1" founders day of the academy was celebrated at NIAPA campus in Dimapur. Actress and Member of Parliament, Moon Moon Sen inaugurated the event titled Decade plus1'. The budding designers from the Institute showcased their work as the kids walked the ramp in designer outfits. The academy regularly organizes many fashion shows, events, and seminars in India and abroad to showcase the skills of their students to a wider audience. In 2014, the students had presented a fashion show by designer Ikali Sukhalu at the Couture Fashion week in New York. Feb 10, 2015

Lucknow, Feb 07 (ANI): Minister of State for Railways, Manoj Sinha on Saturday acknowledged that the passenger and freight traffic in the railways has grown manifold but the infrastructure has not grown correspondingly. Sinha was speaking at the flagging off ceremony of the Lucknow-Kathgodam train in Lucknow city of Uttar Pradesh. Metro services to start at 4 AM on polling day in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 06 (ANI): The Delhi Metro will start operations at 4 AM on Saturday to enable voters to reach their respective polling booths to exercise their franchise to elect 70 members to the Delhi Assembly. A Delhi Metro release said that the trains will run at intervals of 30 minutes till 5:30 AM on all its lines. Thereafter, it said frequency would increase and trains will start running as per the normal schedule after 5:30 AM. Announcements in this regard are being made in the trains as well as on station premises. The Election Commission has been carrying out an awareness campaign with people commuting on the Delhi Metro with an aim to encourage them to vote in the assembly polls. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is also scrolling voter awareness messages on display screens installed in train coaches. New Delhi, Feb 04 (ANI): In a show of strength, the women's wing of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organised a bike rally in New Delhi on Wednesday, ahead of assembly elections in the city. This bike rally was organised in Krishna Nagar, the constituency from where the chief ministerial candidate of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kiran Bedi, is contesting elections. Delhi goes to polls on February 7 for the second time in 14 months after AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal pulled plugs on his government supported by Congress party barely 49 days into office last February. AAP supporters from across the country converged in the capital to take part in the rally. Bollywood actress and member of AAP from Chandigarh city, Gul Panag, led the rally riding her trademark Bullet bike, wearing a red jacket. Woman gangraped in Mumbai, three accused arrested

Mumbai, Feb 04 (ANI): A 21-year-old woman was gangraped in Mumbai, on the intervening night of Tuesday (February 03) and Wednesday (February 04), said police. All the three accused were arrested from the crime scene itself. The victim was on her way home when the culprits befriended her at the Reay Road railway station. The four boarded a local train together as the accused promised to drop her home safe. However, as they de-boarded the train at Cotton Green station, the accused threatened the victim and took her to a truck parking nearby, where they took turns to rape her. A police party which was patrolling in the area rushed to rescue the victim hearing her cries and arrested the three accused from the spot. The accused reportedly work at a goldsmith workshop, while the victim is a slum dweller. A medical examination of the victim confirmed rape. Feb 4, 2015
