President extends greetings on 38th Anniversary of Coast Guard

New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday extended his greetings and felicitations to all ranks of the Indian Coast Guard and their families on the occasion of 38th anniversary of Indian Coast Guard to be celebrated on February 1, 2015. "I am happy to learn that the Indian Coast Guard is celebrating its 38th Anniversary on February 1, 2015. I extend my heartiest greetings to all ranks of the Indian Coast Guard and their families. Let the Indian Coast Guard achieve continued success in all its future endeavours," said President Mukherjee. "Over the years, the Indian Coast Guard has been valiantly serving the nation by ensuring the safety and security of fishermen and mariners as also guarding our long coastline and maritime borders. The personnel of the Indian Coast Guard have always risen to the occasion in the face of emerging maritime challenges and responded beyond the call of duty. Kalyan Singh sworn in as Governor of Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, Jan 29 (ANI): The governor of Rajasthan, Kalyan Singh took additional charge as the governor of Himachal Pradesh. The Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court, Mansoor Ahmed Mir gave oath of office as the 26th governor of Himachal Pradesh. Speaking to media in Shimla's Raj Bhawan, he said that he is pleased to follow the orders of the President Pranab Mukherjee. He also said that he has an emotional bonding with the state of Himachal Pradesh and would discharge the duty as governor of the state. The President has earlier this month asked Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh to discharge the functions of the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, in addition to his own duties, till further orders.
