PM Modi pays tribute to BR Ambedkar on 'Mahaparinirwan Diwas'

New Delhi, Dec 06 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tributes to Dr.BR Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvana Diwas. PM Modi paid floral tributes to Ambedkar outside the Parliament where a event is organized in respect and memory of the architect of the Indian Constitution. President Pranab Mukherjee along with Vice President Hamid Ansari also offered flowers to the statue of Ambedkar. Present at the occasion was also senior BJP leader LK Advani, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh among others. Earlier, PM Modi tweeted saying, "On his Mahaparinirvana Diwas, I bow to the venerable Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. His contribution to the Nation is eternal and invaluable. New Delhi, Dec 06 (ANI): Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj said that search for missing Indian workers in war-torn Iraq was still on, and also assured families of victims that India will leave no stone unturned to find their loved ones. Swaraj had told parliament on November 28 that 39 abducted construction workers in Iraq were alive, on the basis of information from six of the sources, thus contradicting eyewitness' account which said that they were shot dead. New Delhi, Dec 05 (ANI): The ruling BJP MPs on Friday sang the song 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram' standing in front of Mahatma Gandhi outside the Parliament. The party sang and prayed for wisdom to the opposition Congress and other parties. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the Congress is doing all this as a result of their desperation and failure. He said that the public will give befitting reply to such acts by the party. The erstwhile Janata Dal family, including Janata Dal (United), Janata Dal (Secular), Indian National Lok Dal, Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) and the Samajwadi Party (SP) today met at Mulayam Singh Yadav_s residence to discuss the modalities for their merger and to create a new party with the objective of countering the policies of the ruling National Democratic Alliance(NDA).
