YSR Chief Jagan Reddy walks out of jail after 16 months

Hyderabad, Sep 24 (ANI): YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy walked out free of the high security Chenchalguda Central prison in Hyderabad on Tuesday, after 16 months, amidst loud cheer from supporters and sloganeering by his supporters. Once outside the jail, Jagan greeted his supporters with his signature 'namaste'. Security was tight outside the jail ahead of his release. Police had to resort to mild lathi charge to control the crowd. Earlier on Monday, Jagan was granted bail in a disproportionate assets case. He was arrested on 27th May last year by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on corruption charges. Sep 24, 2013

Jaganmohan Reddy gets bail in disproportionate assets case

Hyderabad, Sep 23 (ANI): After remaining in prison for more than a year, YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy was on Monday granted bail in the disproportionate assets case. Reddy was granted bail on surety of Rs 2 lakh. The MP from Kadapa was arrested on May 27, 2012. The Supreme Court had earlier said that only after the chargesheet is completed, the bail to Jagan would be considered.
