New Delhi, July 16 (ANI): Politicos on Wednesday reacted sharply after reports emerged that United Jihad Council chief Syed Salahuddin has called for support from al-Qaeda or Taliban to 'liberate' Kashmir. Attempting to link the separatist violence in the Indian state with pan-Islamic jihad in Syria and Iraq, Salahuddin has declared that help from Al-Qaeda, Taliban or any other like-minded group or country would be welcome. New Delhi, July 15 (ANI): Political leaders on Tuesday reacted over a media report that four youngsters from Mumbai are believed to have to have joined the ISIS militants to fight government forces in Iraq. The Maharashtra police is investigating the four separate missing complaints filed by the parents of the youth, identified as Arif Fayyaz Majeed, Aman Naik Tandel, Shaheed Farooqui Tanki and Fahad Tanvir Sheikh. More Indian nurses stranded in Iraq arrive home

Kochi, July 13 (ANI): Another batch of 29 Indian nurses, who were caught up fighting in Iraq, arrived home in Kochi city of Kerala and were welcomed by their family members at the airport. The nurses were working in four different hospitals in and around places of Diyala. The nurses had been worried as the hospital authorities were not returning their passports but they got it later after government's intervention. India's foreign ministry made ways for safe return of the stranded Indian nationals as they arranged for funds to pay off for immigration fines and return tickets. Jul 13, 2014

Oommen Chandy happy over employment offers for Iraq returned nurses

Thiruvananthapuram, July 12 (ANI): Expressing his happiness over the employment offers and financial assistance pouring in for the nurses who recently returned from the war-torn areas of Iraq, Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that he was very glad about it. He assured the nurses of better employment opportunities to safeguard their future. Forty six nurses, all from Kerala, who were kidnapped in strife-torn Iraq, arrived home in Kochi on July 05. During a meeting, Kerala’s chief minister, Oommen Chandy, questioned nurses regarding their current problems after returning from Iraq. The meeting also included Kerala’s Finance Minister, KM Mani, Industries Minister, PK Kunjalikutty. In the meeting, six companies offered jobs to the nurses. Middle East-based business magnate CK Menon promised Rs 3 lakh to each nurse while Atlas Ramachandran, who runs hospitals and jewellery shops in the Middle East, promised jobs to all of them. New Delhi, July 11 (ANI): Indian workers caught up in fighting in Iraq arrived home on Friday and were greeted at the airport in New Delhi, as many others are still being held captive by the suspected militants. About 10,000 Indians work in Iraq, mostly in areas unaffected by the fighting, but scores of them have returned to India since ISIL began its offensive. Recalling his ordeal, a worker Prashant Mahto said with the efforts of Indian government they were been able to make it back to their homes. Indian worker returning from Iraq succumbs to illness

Gurdaspur, July 10 (ANI): An Indian youth, Shemshar Singh, died in Sharjah hospital while returning back home from war-torn Iraq. Shemshar, 24, who belonged to Gurdaspur district of Punjab, was returning back from Iraq with 11 other colleagues, when he fell seriously ill and was admitted to Sharjah hospital in Dubai.
