Mumbai, Jan 29 (ANI): Seven people were killed and fourteen injured after a luxury bus collided with a diesel tanker and caught fire on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway. The accident took place late on Tuesday night near Manor. The bus is said to be travelling from Pune to Ahmedabad. Traffic was halted for four hours on the highway. Jan 29, 2014

UP Police ensure stern action against cops caught on camera baton charging women

Jaipur, Firozabad, Jan 15 (ANI): Police in Uttar Pradesh has ensured stern action against cops caught on camera kicking, slapping and baton charging women who were protesting on the national highway against the death of two persons in an accident. Police said that investigations were underway and the cops were suspended. The incident had sparked a sharp criticism of the state government of Uttar Pradesh and the state police who were seen ruthlessly beating women protesters in Firozabad district. Chairperson of National Commission for Women (NCW), Mamta Sharma said despite conducting of police sensitization programmes by the state government there has been no change which is unfortunate.
