Archaeologists have revealed the stage of Shakespeare’s original 16th Century theatre in East London, discovering a secret passageway and “mysterious” backstage areas. Other finds include money pots used to collect entry fees and beads and pins believed to be from actors’ costumes. Nov 10, 2016

Five people have died and 50 more were injured when a tram derailed and overturned in Croydon, south London on Wednesday 9 November.
