New Delhi, Oct 12 (ANI): After heading meeting with National Crisis Management Committee on Sunday, Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth said that the velocity of Cyclone Hudhud has come down to 90-100 kmph. He said that the casualty reported is three and has not increased till now. He said that there has been physical damage of mobile communication, electricity lines and roads for whose construction and relief, central government will provide with all possible help. He also said that as far as Andhra Pradesh is concerned, quick assessment will be done and restoration process will start after that. Hyderabad, Oct 12 (ANI): After chairing a high level meeting, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said that at least four people are reported dead while death of two is confirmed. Naidu said that the authorities are not able to assess wind speed as they have lost communications and that the situation is serious in 3-4 districts of the state. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured all cooperation and are arrangements are made so that quick action will be taken to tackle the cyclone. Visakhapatnam, Oct 12 (ANI): Heavy rains and wind intensified as cyclonic storm Hudhud grew in sheer force in Bay of Bengal, uprooting trees and threatening to devastate farmlands as it is about to make landfall in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday. Around 150,000 people have been evacuated in Andhra Pradesh to high-rise buildings, shelters and relief centres. Authorities have been stocking cyclone shelters with dry rations, water purification tablets and generators. They have opened up 24-hour emergency control rooms and dispatched satellite phones to officials in charge of vulnerable districts. Visakhapatnam, Oct 11 (ANI): Indian Railways cancelled trains in the eastern coast on Saturday as Cyclone Hudhud approaches with the threat of widespread damage. Thirty seven trains originating from port city Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneshwar or going through either of them, were cancelled for Sunday, when the cyclone is set to hit. Thirty one trains will be diverted through other states. Cyclone Hudhud was about 470 km offshore on Friday, satellite images showed, and was expected to hit land around the key port city of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday morning. It will also impact the neighbouring Odisha. Passengers are now scared to board trains. Help lines have been set up at various railway stations and emergency and controlling staff have been deployed to meet any contingency. The railways will also coordinate with the State Government and National Disaster Relief Force, if need be.
