Politicos react as report blames former UPA govt for coal scam

New Delhi/Lucknow, Aug 27 (ANI): A follow up report by Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India dealing with illegalities in coal scam got mixed reviews from politicians on Wednesday as it blamed the previous UPA government for tampering with the recommendations made by a screening committee in 2007 for allocation of coal blocks. Congress leader Manish Tewari said that for sixteen long years there were many Prime Ministers who allocated coal blocks, seeing that only a certain individual cannot be blamed. BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said that Manmohan Singh's government will be accountable for the mistakes it has made for coming ten years as well. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party leader, Naresh Agarwal, said that based on a decision taken by the Prime Minister one cannot classify him as the sole reason for the scam. Aug 27, 2014
