New Delhi, Dec 20 (ANI): BJP on Saturday welcomed the Central government’s step of introducing the GST Bill in Parliament. Party Spokesperson Sambit Patra said that it is a welcome as it will benefit both the centre and the states. Govt tables GST Bill in Lok Sabha, Jaitley says bill may increase taxation

New Delhi, Dec 19 (ANI): The Central government on Friday tabled the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill in Lok Sabha. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that the government aims to bring the tax into effect from April 1, 2016. Government will compensate its state governments for revenue losses due to the new nationwide Goods and Service Tax. He added GST will also add to country's gross domestic product (GDP). The bill introduced by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley needs the support of two thirds of members of parliament as well as ratification by state legislatures which is expected to happen by the next session of parliament. Sushma Swaraj condemns granting of bail to Lakhvi by Pak court; resolution passed in Parliament

New Delhi, Dec 19 (ANI): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Friday condemned the granting of bail to 26/11 accused Zaki-ur Rehman Lakhvi by a Pakistani court, while addressing in Lok Sabha. She said India does not accept Pakistan government's argument that there was no evidence against Lakhvi. Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha also passed a resolution moved by all parties condemning the grant of bail. Mamata says will keep up attack on NDA govt in Parliament, politicos react

New Delhi, Dec 18 (ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that Trinamool Congress will continue to protest against the BJP-led NDA government in Parliament over what it claims is the political vendetta unleashed against the party in connection with the Saradha scam. Bannerjee reached Delhi on Wednesday. Mamata is visiting Delhi to meet President Pranab Mukherjee, who recently underwent coronary angioplasty.
