Visakhapatnam, Oct 17 (ANI): The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu assured to make the port city of Visakhapatnam the best city again, after it was devastated by cyclone Hudhud which hit on October 12. Naidu earlier visited the cyclone-hit areas to take the stock of the situation. He said on Friday (October 17) that the state government is doing their part. They are concentration in relief and rehabilitation work. The chief minister also thanked the Central government for their cooperation. Visakhapatnam, Oct 16 (ANI): Cyclone Hudhud that smashed the coastline of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha and killed at least 25 people has left the panicked survivors struggling for basic necessities like food and water. The cyclone ripped apart tens of thousands of mud-and-thatch homes, flattened rice, banana and sugarcane plantations and snapped electricity lines when it made landfall on Sunday. In the port city of Visakhapatnam residents formed long queues outside the few ATMs, petrol stations and stores which had reopened, even when there is no electricity. New Delhi/Akhnoor, Oct 15 (ANI): Pakistan is still continuing to violate the ceasefire even after being severely warned by the Indian government. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said on Wednesday that Pakistan is violating ceasefire out of frustration since it has been cornered internationally. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that the government should take strict measures against the continuous ceasefire violations by Pakistan. Nine Pakistani and eight Indian civilians have been killed since security forces from both sides started heavy shelling more than a week ago along the international border in Kashmir. Vizag, Oct 14 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday chaired a high level meeting to take stock of situation in Andhra Pradesh after the Cyclone Hudhud hit the state. PM Modi lauded the meteorological department for making efficient use of technology in predicting the intensity of the cyclone and thereby mineralizing the effect of the same. He condoled the death of people and announced compensation for the victims. He said that ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh will be given to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to those injured from the PM relief fund.
