Chicago: 5 killed in 10 shootings in 12 hours

Five people were killed and 11 others injured in over 10 shootings within 12 hours on 25 January in Chicago. Those shot were aged from 16 to 56, with several survivors in critical condition at hospital. The burst of shootings came after no one had been reported shot in the city for 33 hours; through most of the day on 24 January in to the following day. Tunisia: Police and rioters clash in more job protests

Tunisian police firing tear gas clashed on 21 January, with hundreds of protesters who set fire to a police post and tried to storm local government buildings in several towns, during a third day of rioting over jobs, residents said. At least one policeman has been killed in some of the worst protests in Tunisia since the 2011 uprising that toppled autocrat Zine El-Abidine Ben Ali. San Francisco: Black Lives Matter protest shuts down the Bay Bridge

The westbound lanes of the Bay Bridge, in San Francisco, California, were shut down on 18 January, after Black Lives Matter protesters used different means to block the multi lane bridge.
