North Korea responds to U.S. sanctions

North Korea has sent a staunch warning to the U.S. in response to unanimously approved sanctions adopted by the U.N. security council on 5 August.We are ready to retaliate with far bigger actions to make the U.S. pay a price for its crime against our country and people, said the government controlled Korean Central News Agency (NCNA). The sanctions are a direct response to Pyongyangs recent  intercontinental ballistic missile tests, which put the U.S. in range of an attack. The economic sanctions key North Korean exports including coal, iron, iron ore, lead, lead ore, and seafood.Stopping the missile tests is the first step towards dialogue, says U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. Venezuela: Inauguration of constituent assembly sparks new protests

Venezuela has inaugurated the new legislative superbody elected last week. The 545-member constituent assembly has been condemned by governments across Latin America, the U.S. and EU. Opposition protesters clashed again with security forces in Caracas. They believe the assembly endangers Venezuelas democratic freedoms. The all-powerful body may decide to dissolve the opposition-run congress and will rewrite the constitution, giving the ruling Socialist Party vast new powers. Aug 5, 2017
