Bangalore, Nov 6 (ANI): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to withdraw the concessions the Centre has provided Andhra Pradesh for the information technology (IT) sector, stating that such allowances would cause an unhealthy competition between the two states. Siddaramaiah also stated that the state authorities were taking all possible steps to check the spate of incidents of rape and molestations, which have recently cropped up in schools of Karnataka. Reactions pour in after KJ George blames media for projecting Bangalore as rape city

Vyapam Scam: Digvijay to request SC for CBI investigation under SIT

Bangalore Police ensures safety of school children after six-year old's alleged rape

Bangalore, Nov 5 (ANI): Bangalore Police Commissioner M N Reddi on Wednesday said that all necessary steps of installing CCTV cameras to ensure security of the school children will be put in place as the institution will be reopening on Thursday. The decision was taken after a meeting with the school management committee, the parents association and Bangalore police. Earlier on October 29, a six-year-old was allegedly raped twice at the private school in Bangalore city. The girl was sexually assaulted by a school teacher on two occasions. Reportedly the accused is a 37-year-old faculty member, identified as Jaishankar, and teaches Hindi as a subject. Bangalore Rape Case: Principal, Director of school arrested

Bangalore, Nov 02 (ANI): Police arrested the principal and one of the directors of school in Bangalore, over alleged rape of a six-year-old child. A case of negligence was also filed against the institution for not following the guidelines issued for children safety. The child was allegedly raped twice by a school teacher on October 28 and October 29 at the private school in the city. Additional Commissioner of Police for law and order, Alok Kumar said the principal Vaijayanthi and director Pramod Arya were arrested under two sections of the Indian Penal Code and one section under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). He added that both the accused have been booked under Section 21 of the POCSO Act for not informing the police after learning about the incident.
