Chennai, Feb 24 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, on Monday said that the provincial government would oppose the review petition filed by the central government in Supreme Court over release of Rajiv Gandhi’s assassins. Central government filed a petition at the Supreme Court arguing that Jayalalithaa's government did not have the power to free the Tamil convicts. The court blocked the chief minister from releasing three of them until the case was resolved and scheduled a hearing for March 6. Meanwhile, speaking about the party’s agenda in the upcoming general elections, AIADMK Chief Jayalalithaa said policy of the party will be out soon. Feb 24, 2014

Udit Raj, who is the head of the National Confederation of SCs /STs, said that he has talked to BJP on issues related to role of Dalits in governance and running the country, and only after that he decided to join the party. Gaya, Feb 23 (ANI): Maoists attack district police station in ‘red corridor’ region, after a fierce gunbattle killing one cab driver and setting two trucks ablaze in Gaya city of Bihar. The cross-firing between red rebels and police started at around 11 pm at night and went on for a couple of hours. Kumar said that the number of Maoists who carried on the operation could not be estimated as the sudden attack came in the dead of the night. They tried to barge in the police station, but the counter attack by the security officials failed their attempts.
