The district authorities of Kulgam distributed wheel chairs and other equipment among disabled kids of the district, under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) scheme, sponsored by the central govt. The education department had identified some 50 kids from poor families, including tribal families among whom some 36 wheel chairs, 24 special tricycles, 12 brail kits, 104 MR kits and 11 hearing devices were distributed. The residents of Barthana face many problems due to the bad condition of roads. Barthana is just seven kilometers away from Lal Chowk, Srinagar. Unfortunately, the condition of the link road is very bad and residents of the area and other adjoining places, including Arampora and Qamerwari, are facing inconvenience. To provide better health facilities to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the central government has launched many schemes. NRHM is one of them. Many facilities are being provided under the scheme to people in Rajouri district. Feb 7, 2014
