Politicos welcome decision to discuss 'Anti-Coversion bill' in Parliament

New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): Political leaders on Friday welcomed the decision by the central government to discuss the 'Anti-Coversion bill' in the Parliament. BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao welcomed the same and said that if the opposition criticizes the same, it will show their hypocrisy. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that the government should not deviate from real issues. NCP welcomed the bill and said that the party will support the same. New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi invited yet another controversy as he called for raising reservation limit from present 49.5 per cent to 80 percent for OBCs, SC/STs and other sections of the population. New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): The Government has approved a compensation of Rs. 5 lakh each to the kin of victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The decision was taken by the Union Cabinet at a meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to reports, the amount is an additional compensation which will be given to the families of the riot victims apart from what they have so far received from the government and other agencies. Over 3,000 victims of the 1984 violence, triggered by the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, are likely to benefit from the government's announcement. New Delhi/ Mathura, Dec 09 (ANI): Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Tuesday (December 09) summoned chief executive officer (India operations) of Uber cab service to interrogate him about the alleged rape incident and its services in India. The arrested driver, Shiv Kumar Yadav was remanded in custody for three days. He was arrested on charges of raping a woman three years ago but was later acquitted, police said. DCW chief Barkha Shukla said that they will find out how the cab service entered India. BJD leader Jay Panda said no taxi service should be singled out.
