Brazil, June 16 (ANI): Demonstrators gathered in the Brazilian capital of Brasilia to rally against the high costs of the ongoing FIFA World Cup. Hundreds of protestors convened at a bus terminal in the downtown area of the city before heading out to the Mane Garrincha National Stadium, shouting slogans condemning the tournament. The protesters said they were angry about more than 11.5 billion US dollars spent on the World Cup when Brazil is facing glaring inequality and pressing needs in education, healthcare, housing and transport. Patna/ Vadodara, June 13 (ANI): In wake of intense heat, zoo authorities across India made special arrangements for the animals and birds and installed coolers to help them cope with scorching heat. In an effort to provide cool shelters to birds, jute bags have been placed on cages on which water is sprayed periodically, so that the enclosures remain cool. A visitor to Sanjay Gandhi Zoological Park in Patna city of Bihar, Mohammed Mustaq, said special steps have been taken by the zoo authorities to provide them with summer comfort. Local administration insensitive, say families of students swept away by river Beas

Mandi, June 11 (ANI): Family members of the students from Hyderabad swept away by gushing waters of river Beas in Himachal Pradesh have accused local administration of being insensitive; lacking a system in place after rescue officials recovered five bodies from the river. Rescuers had found five bodies till Tuesday and officials said prospects of finding the rest alive were bleak. The students were from a private engineering college in Hyderabad and had gone missing on June 08 after stopping to take photographs. The family members, who had arrived, claimed the bodies and with the help of the leaders from Andhra Pradesh flew them back.
