IRC hosts _Quran and Modern Science_ Expo

Aurangabad, Dec 4 (ANI): A three-day exhibition _The Quran and Modern Science_ is being hosted by the Islamic Research Centre (IRC) in Maharashtra. The exhibition aims at making the youth aware of scientific facts stated in the holy book of Quran. President of IRC Advocate Faiz Syed said the motive is to clear the misconceptions of non Muslims regarding the Muslim community. Several illustrated posters quoted verses from the Quran and linked them with discoveries in modern science. A student, Alfia, said the exhibition made them aware how science and Quran are related. Panels were displayed on different subjects like Astronomy, Physics, Geography, Geology, Oceanology, Biology and Embryology. Dec 4, 2014

The advisory comes after four Kalyan youths, all single and under 30, used the pilgrimage route to travel to Iraq in May and joined the jihadist outfit ISIS there. Politicos reacted on the issue. One such place is the Mausoleum of Sufi Saint Sai Akbar in Rajouri district of India’s northern state of Jammu and Kashmir that attracts Hindu and Muslim devotees. Every year large number of people visit the shrine to pray for the well-being of their loved ones. Though devotees throng the shrine throughout the year, the Urs or the death anniversary of the saint attracts a large number of people. During the Urs people from different faiths sit together, eat, drink and pray with equal devotion. Mass prayers are held on the occasion, which present a perfect picture of religious amity.
