Southern rail boss apologises for Christmas travel chaos amid RMT and Aslef strikes

One of the bosses of GTR, who run under-fire rail company Southern, has apologised for the travel chaos commuters will face throughout December. The RMT and Aslef unions have called for a number of strikes across the month over a long-running dispute about the changing role of conductors on trains. Metropolitan police has released CCTV footage of a man robbing an elderly woman in East Finchley.The woman in her 80s was robbed around 3pm on 1 March in Thomas More Way.A man can be seen following her before pulling her to the ground and taking her handbag.He then fled the crime scene in a grey Volkswagen Golf.The woman was taken to hospital with injuries to her face and knee.
