People toast their glasses at first Wine Festival in Nagpur

Nagpur, Dec 01 (ANI): Organisers held the first Wine Festival in orange city Nagpur highlighting health benefits of the low alcoholic beverage. The two-day-long festival was organised by the 'Wine Lovers Club' and eight Indian brands promoted their drinks during the event. Wine festival was enjoyed by a large number of people smelling, shaking and tasting wine and watching bartenders juggling wine bottles. An organiser at the event, Sunil Mankikr, said that their main aim was to tell people that wine and liquor are two different beverages and drinking wine was a healthy option. Dec 1, 2013

Jorhat, Nov 23 (ANI): 32-year-old Kheiramoni Saikia is a resident of Chetia Gaon, situated on the outskirts of Jorhat district, in upper Assam. She is a mother of two, and could barely meet the needs of the household with the meager income of her husband, who works as a daily wage labourer. However, under the central government’s MGNREGA scheme, she has been provided a job card, through which she gets work as a daily wager in various construction projects.
