Flood hit villagers continue to suffer, blame government

Odisha, Aug 10 (ANI): Villagers in flood-hit Odisha on Sunday (August 10) blamed the government for their sufferings due to inaction, while the situation continues to remain grim in most of the places. Although waters have receded in some parts of the state but in Keonjhar district flood waters still remain above danger levels. Amid all these there are growing complaints of government apathy. In Keonjhar district people bear the brunt as they remain outside their homes searching for places of high ground for their safety. In Ghasipur village a visibly angry villager, Narahari Ojha, complained that all the politicians who come seeking votes at the time of elections have turned a deaf ear towards them. Aug 11, 2014

Fifteen killed in encounter between two Maoist groups in Jharkhand

Palamu, Aug 10 (ANI): Fifteen people were killed in an encounter between two rebel groups in Palamu district of Jharkhand. The outfits were Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-M) and a group that splintered itself from the party, Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC). Members of the Communist Party of India-Maoist were allegedly angry regarding a previous incident where their party members were killed by the TPC and wanted to take revenge regarding the same. The incident took place at Koudia village under Vishrampur police station limits, when the TPC members were resting at a villager, Ramchandra Sav's residence, and the Communist Party of India-Maoist members came and killed them.
