Canadian Governor General seeks to bolster business, academic ties with India

New Delhi, Feb 24 (ANI): Canadian Governor General, David Johnston said on Monday that he sought to provide greater impetus to bilateral ties with India including fresh initiatives in business, entrepreneurship and education. Johnston, who is on a week-long visit to India from February 22 to March 2, is accompanied by Canadian lawmakers and delegates aiming to enhance business, academic, cultural and people-to-people ties with their Indian counterparts. Bhubaneshwar, Feb 15 (ANI): A Congress leader is observing an indefinite hunger strike outside the Governor’s house in Bhubhaneshwar, over a demand for the return of dead bodies of missing tribals, who have allegedly died in police custody. Speaking to media persons the leader, Pradeep Majhi, claimed that he has information that four tribal men of the five who were arrested a few years ago by the Malkangiri district police under charges of supporting Maoists, were dead. Majhi, along with the family members of the missing tribals and various other supporters from Malkangiri and other surrounding tribal districts, went on an indefinite hunger strike three days ago.
