BJP applauds general budget during parliamentary meet

New Delhi, March 03 (ANI): BJP leaders and union ministers on Tuesday applauded the general budget 2015-16 during the party parliamentary meet in Delhi. Briefing about the meet, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy said that the budget covers poor and all the people of the society and is being appraised on the scemes it has for everyone. The parliamentary party also applauded BJP’s victory in local bodies elections among others. He also said that the government will also discuss various ordinances and bills in the Parliament today. Politicos react as PDP seeks body of Afzal Guru

Jammu/ New Delhi, Mar 03 (ANI): Ruling party of Jammu and Kashmir sought the dead body of Afzal Guru, evoking sharp reaction from opposition. India hanged Mohammad Afzal Guru in 2013 for the attack on parliament in 2001 and his mortal remains were buried in New Delhi jail premises. The state got a coalition government of People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday (March 01). PM Modi has lunch at Parliament canteen, pays Rs 29 for veg thali

New Delhi, March 02 (ANI): In a rare gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday had lunch at the Parliament canteen. Reportedly, PM Modi made a surprise visit to Room number 70 on the first floor of the Parliament building, from where the canteen operates. The canteen staff was surprised by Modi’s sudden arrival but soon regained composure and guided him to a table and took his order. According to media reports, PM ordered a Veg Thali which consisted of sarson ka saag, aloo subji, rajma, rice, roti and curd and paid Rs 29 for his lunch. After having the lunch, PM Modi wrote in the canteen's visitor book "ann data Sukhi Bhava". Modi was in company of three MPs at the table. Mar 2, 2015

Govt distances itself from Mufti's remark, Opposition demands PM's statement

New Delhi, March 02 (ANI): The BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre on Monday dissociated itself from Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's remark crediting Pakistan for peaceful polls in the state. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday told the Parliament that armed forces, paramilitary forces and the people of Jammu and Kashmir have made peaceful polls possible. Meanwhile, the opposition demanded a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue. Sayeed, who took oath as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister yesterday, stoked a controversy by stating that the Hurriyat, Pakistan and militants had allowed a conducive atmosphere for the assembly polls in the state.
