Srinagar, June 23 (ANI): Life came to a standstill on Monday in Kashmir as curfew is imposed in some areas following a call for a strike by a separatist group to protest against the government. The curfew order followed a call by the chief of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (a separatist group), Yasin Malik, to observe June 23 as 'Quit Kashmir Day' and observe a strike to register their protest against the government. All shops, business establishments, schools, colleges and government offices are closed and public transport are off the roads. Security personnel put up barbed wires to block the roads and patrolled the area. Gun battle between Indian security forces and militants rages in Kashmir

Sopore, June 23 (ANI): Indian security forces and militants engaged in fierce gun battle in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, as forces launched search operations to trace the rebels hiding in a house. Security personnel cordoned off the area in Sopore town after reports surfaced that at least two to three rebels were hiding in the house. The operation began after a search party was fired upon by the militants. Italy brought on Antonio Cassano at halftime, but Costa Rica expertly took the sting out of the match, reducing their opponents only to glimpses of goal, while they continued to look threatening on the counter. Obama deploys 300 military advisors to help Iraq repel ISIL insurgents

New Delhi, June 20(ANI): US President Barack Obama has decided to send 300 additional U.S. Special Operations troops to assist in Iraq's fight against advancing ISIS militants. Obama said that he is sending up to 300 US military advisers to Iraq, but made clear that he will continue to hold back more substantive support till its deemed necessary. He further said that the troops are being deployed to better assess the situation on the ground, where forces of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria have moved ever nearer to Baghdad. He added that the US will be prepared to take "targeted and precise military action" if and when the situation on the ground requires it.
