The massive DDoS attack that almost brought down US internet

Hackers have launched a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack against internet infrastructure provider Dyn.Two attacks disrupted service on major sites like Twitter, Spotify, Reddit and Airbnb through Friday night.It is unclear who was responsible but hackers might have used the Mirai botnet.Dyn says the attacks were successfully mitigated and service was restored.Security experts say the attacks may have been an extortion attempt or a publicity gimmick. The Bank of Enlgands new £5 note has been announced, which for the first time in British history is made out of polymer. The switch to the longer-lasting notes will save roughly £100 million as the notes are waterproof, crinkle proof and tear resistant. A hacker that leaked Hillary Clintons private email account had been jailed for 52 months. The hacker, whose real name is Marcel Lazar, helped expose Hillary Clinton’s private email domain. Lazar, 44, had pleaded guilty in May to unauthorised access to a protected computer and aggravated identity theft.
