Anzac Day marked with dawn tribute on the shores of Gallipoli

The 102nd Anzac Day has been marked by a dawn service on the shores of the Gallipoli, as military personal from around the world gathered to honour the thousands killed during the ill-fated First World War campaign there. The Gallipoli campaign marked the first time Australian and New Zealander troops fought under their own flags, and was their entry into the war in 1915. Death toll rises to 140 after Taliban gunmen disguised in army uniform attack base in Afghanistan

More than 140 Afghan soldiers were killed in a Taliban attack on a military base. The attackers were reportedly dressed in military uniforms to get past checkpoints.Most of the soldiers were killed when leaving a mosque or having lunch. The attackers were armed with rocket-propelled grenades and guns.About 70 foreign military advisers were stationed at the base in Mazar-e-Sharif.
