Uttarakhand CM discusses state issues with NITI Aayog members, satisfied with responses

New Delhi, Feb 08 (ANI): After meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other members of the NITI Aayog, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Sunday said that he discussed state issues with the Aayog. He said that he was satisfied with the positive response he got from the members and that he hoped for all the help from the centre for the development of the state. He also said that he asked for the same consideration for Uttarakhand as for the north east. Mumbai hosts fund-raising marathon to spread awareness about cardiac diseases

Mumbai, Feb 8 (ANI): Hundreds of children took part in a fund-raising marathon in Mumbai on Sunday spread awareness about cardiac diseases. ‘Little Hearts Marathon’ is an initiative of ‘Bai Jerabai Wadia Hospital for Children’ in Mumbai to raise funds for poor children unable to meet the exorbitant hospital expenses. The second edition of the three-kilometer marathon drew several known personalities, including the head of youth wing of regional political party, Yuva Sena, Aditya Thackeray, Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade and businessman Ness Wadia. PM Modi chairs first meeting of newly created NITI Ayog in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 8 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday (February 08) chaired the first meeting of the governing council of National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) in New Delhi. The formation of the forum was announced on August 15, 2014 by Modi during his maiden Independence Day address from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort. Modi has accused 65-year-old Planning Commission of stifling growth with Soviet-style bureaucracy. The NITI will act more like a think tank or forum, in contrast with the Commission which imposed five-year-plans and allocated resources to hit set economic targets. Feb 8, 2015

Delhi Elections: Campaign enters last leg

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): As the campaigning for the Delhi Assembly elections ends this evening, BJP, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are making all out efforts to convince people to vote for their candidates by making promises. Addressing a rally in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his government is working towards providing job opportunities to youth. He also made an indirect attack on AAP in connection with alleged dubious funding. Rejecting BJP's allegation of receiving dubious funds, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal dared the Government to arrest him if he has violated any law. Targetting the BJP Government, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi asked whether the lives of common people have improved in the past seven months.
