BSE closes points 258.68 down on Dec 12

New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed points 258.68 down to stand at 20,912.73. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 70.85 points down to stand at 6,237.05. Coromandel International ltd. and Mcleod Russel India Ltd. were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 7.53% and 5.93% along with Tata Power and Pipavav Defence And Offshore Eng Ltd with an increase of 3.84% and 3.20% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Adani Enterprises Ltd. and Tata Motors Ltd. with a decrease of 5.48% and 4.55% along with Tv18 Broadcast Ltd. and Power Finance Corporation Ltd. with a decrease of 4.13% and 3.48% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 270.57 points at 12,053.65 while the banking sector is down 197.57 points at 13,268.01 and the realty sector is down 8.17 points at 1,364.77.The Indian currency is down 0.72% at Rs 61.69 per dollar. The Japanese way of waste treatment protects environment

Tokyo, Dec 10 (ANI): This facility in Chofu, Tokyo, has the most advanced municipal waste treatment plant in Japan. The "Green Plaza Fujimi" started its operation in April 2013. It is managed by JFE Engineering to handle combustible waste and produce energy from it. The fully automated unit attracts visitors from abroad, especially Asian countries. A key feature of this facility is "zero emission" - a mechanism to produce zero waste from garbage. The combustible waste of 400,000 citizens is collected in this facility, which has the capacity to burn 288 tons of garbage every day. The facility also generates electricity using a steam turbine engine from heat produced by the incineration of waste. It produces 43.3 million kilowatts per year, which is sold to an electric company. The electricity produced can meet the requirements of about 10,000 households. Dec 10, 2013

Jharkhand Chief Hemant Soren reopens coal mine in rebel infested Latehar

Latehar, Nov 24 (ANI): Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, reopened Jharkhand Mineral Development Corporation (JSMDC) owned Sikni coal mine recently in Latehar district which paved way for a large number of jobs in the rebel-infested district. The mine operations were closed since September 2011, after the coal deposits on the land allotted to the coal mine got exhausted. The mine operations were stopped over the issue of a mining lease for fresh stretches and lack of compliance on part of JSMDC. At least 40,000 families had been directly or indirectly affected by the closure. These families included employees of the coal mine and transporters. Nov 24, 2013
