New Delhi, May 21 (ANI): BJP leader Harshvardhan on Wednesday said that the AAP would be thoroughly rejected by people if they decide to hold a referendum and ask people whether they should make a bid for forming the government with support of Congress or go in for election. RBI governor says fiscal discipline key for economic growth

New Delhi, May 21 (ANI): RBI governor Raghuram Rajan has reiterated his call for fiscal discipline. Rajan stated that it is essential for the country to achieve sustainable economic growth. Although the comments were part of a broader speech on public sector banks, they come as India's newly elected government led by Narendra Modi is set to face its first credibility test with markets when it delivers a budget by July. Rajan repeated his call while noting that India would not always be able to rely on banks to buy a large portion of its government debt as it usually does. TRS chief stakes claim to form government in Telangana

Hyderabad, May 18 (ANI): Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K Chandrashekar Rao, on Sunday staked claim to form his government in Telangana, which would come into existence on June 01, after winning the general election. Present southern state of Andhra Pradesh will be split into Telangana and Seemandhra on June 01, as per the parliament law. Rao met Andhra Pradesh Governor Ekkadu S. L. Narasimhan and formally informed about his election as the legislature party leader and introduced the newly elected legislators in Hyderabad. TRS won 62 seats in 117-member Telangana assembly. JD (U) supporters stage protest against Sharad Yadav

Patna, May 18 (ANI): Workers and supporters of JD (U) staged protest against party chief Sharad Yadav and urged Nitish Kumar to assume his office. Party workers took to streets on Sunday and demanded that Kumar should take back his decision of resigning as the state chief. Kumar, leader of JD (U), tendered his resignation on Saturday (May 17) to Governor DY Patil after taking moral responsibility of the defeat in general elections. Later, Patil accepted the resignation. The JD-U won only two parliamentary seats out of 40 in Bihar while Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) cornered 31 seats.
