Govt bond yield spike temporary: P Chidambaram

Mumbai, Nov 19 (ANI): Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday said that the a recent spike in government bond yield is temporary and that the central bank could take some steps to bring the yields down should food inflation moderate. Bond yields have risen since the Reserve Bank of India raised interest rates for a second consecutive month on October 29. Chidambaram also expressed happiness on the inauguration of India's first all-women, 'Bharatiya Mahila' Bank by the Prime Minister and Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Nov 19, 2013

Chhattisgarh Assembly polls: BJP releases manifesto

Raipur, Nov 06 (ANI): Ahead of Assembly election in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Raman Singh on Wednesday released BJP’s election manifesto in Raipur. Singh attempted to lure the voters especially the youth by announcing freebies for the college entrants. Singh also announced food grains at cheap rates for large number of families. Singh also highlighted that schemes would be implemented to improve the state infrastructure. The first phase of polls in Chhattisgarh will be held on November 11 for which the notification will be issued on October 18. The last date of filing nominations will be October 25 and the last date of withdrawal will be October 28.
