Maharashtra inducts two new members in its cabinet

Mumbai, June 02 (ANI): The Maharashtra government inducted two new ministers in its cabinet on Monday. Incumbent legislator from Latur constituency of the state, Amit Deshmukh, took oath as the Minister of State while legislator Abdul Sattar from Sillod constituency took oath as the new Cabinet Minister. Governor of Maharashtra, K Sankaranarayanan, administered the oath of office to both the legislators at Raj Bhavan. Deshmukh is a first- time minister and the elder son of late Maharashtra chief Vilasrao Deshmukh. Abdul Sattar, a politician and two-time legislator was the Minister of State in the government of former state chief, Ashok Chavan. Jun 2, 2014

KCR takes oath as the first Chief Minister of Telangana

Hyderabad, June 02 (ANI): Following the birth of India's 29th state Telangana, TRS Chief KC Rao was sworn in as the first Chief Minister of the state on Monday. His party TRS had earlier won the mandate by winning 62 of the 119 seats in the newly formed Telangana Assembly. Rao will head a cabinet of 11 ministers which also include his son and nephew. Modi who believes in simple living didn't ask for any changes in the residence vacated by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh last week. Modi's residence as chief minister of Gujarat was minimalist in nature, with the living room having just four chairs and a small centre table. Governor of Andhra Pradesh gets additional charge of Telangana

New Delhi, May 28 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday gave E S L Narasimhan, Governor of Andhra Pradesh, the additional charge of Telangana. In a press communique released by the Rashtrapati Bhawan it said President Pranab Mukherjee is pleased to appoint E S L. Narasimhan, Governor of Andhra Pradesh, to discharge the functions of the Governor of Telangana, in addition to his own duties until a permanent arrangement is made. The above appointment will take effect from the date he assumes charge of his office. May 28, 2014
