Chhapra, Aug 25 (ANI): Counting is underway in Bihar for the ten assembly seats that had gone to by-polls last week. The trends are showing a close contest with the BJP and RJD leading in five seats. BJP candidate Rampreet Paswan and Niranjan Ram is leading in the Rajnagar and Kaimur seat respectively. While RJD candidate Ajay Kumar has taken the lead in Samastipur seat. The RJD is ahead in Chhapra with party leader Randhir Singh leading. The outcome of the by-polls, the first major political event after the general elections, is significant as it will show the mood of the people before next year's assembly polls. Aug 25, 2014

Former teacher dedicates his life as 'father' to 12 HIV positive adopted children

Meerut, Aug 25 (ANI): A former college teacher, Ajay Sharma, in Uttar Pradesh, dedicated his life as 'father' to 12 HIV positive boys he adopted. The Samaritan calls his care home 'Satyakam Care Home' which has become well known address in the city of Meerut. The children, between 7 and 17, all have one thing in common that they were born to parents with AIDS. Sharma says he decided to dedicate his life to these kids after he survived a brain hemorrhage in 2004. Sharma has received help in his effort. His children are being taught by experienced teachers in their pursuit of education and seasoned medical practitioners look after their health. Aug 25, 2014

Reactions flow as Centre allows Agustawestland to do business with India

New Delhi, Aug 23 (ANI): Political leaders reacted on Saturday as the Central government has given permission to Agustawestland and Finmeccanica to do business with India, although in a limited capacity. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy said that the government should not have continued the deal as previous results have shown the companies to be corrupt but added that the government must have done so with a point of view. CPI leader Atul Anjan stated that the BJP used to make a loud noise on anything regarding defence deals and has now allowed corrupt agencies to do business with India which is entirely wrong.
