Tokyo, Sep 02 (ANI): Japan's experience with the Great Earthquake and the Sarin gas attack in Tokyo subway by terrorists has prompted the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to undertake a range of disaster prevention and management measures. In 2003, the Bureau of Social Welfare of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government formed the Tokyo DMAT - Disaster Medical Assistance Teams-to deal with any crisis. The DMAT teams specializes in on-site rapid response medical assistance to the disaster victims and are equipped with medical doctors with portable medical kit to provide on-the spot emergency medical treatment, before transporting victims to hospitals. At least 4 killed and 12 injured in Noida road accident

Noida, Sep 01 (ANI): Four employee of Motherson company, a private firm based in Noida were killed and over 12 injured when a bus carrying them collided with a truck in Sector 71 of Noida on Monday. The injured were immediately rushed to the nearest hospitals. Doctor said that a few are serious while others can be released on an immediate basis. The accident took place early in the morning when the victims were on their way to the Motherson company. One of the injured said that the truck collided straight on to the bus and that both the drivers didn’t pay attention. At least 8 dead in road accident in Rajasthan, several injured

Pali, Aug 31 (ANI): At least eight people were dead and several others injured in a road accident in Pali district of Rajasthan on Sunday. The injured have been admitted to a hospital and treatment is going on. The accident took place on the Mandia by-pass near Pali, some 300 km from Jaipur. The bus carried pilgrims from Utharada village in Salumber tehsil of Udaipur district. Lucknow/ Bhopal/ Mumbai, Aug 29 (ANI): BJP leaders and cabinet ministers hailed the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch a scheme to ensure that the majority of households in his country of nearly 1.3 billion people have a bank account within months. If successful, the Jan Dhan Yojana could help mend strained state finances by better targeting billions of dollars in welfare spending as well as relieving poverty in a country where about 40 percent of the population has no access to banking. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan praised the initiative saying through this scheme people would be able to save their money judiciously. Under the scheme, the government will give account holders a debit card and accident insurance cover of up to 100,000 rupees. Good customers would also be eligible for an overdraft facility of up to 5,000 Indian rupees after six months. Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj said this could help break a link between poor public services and corruption. Home Minister Rajnath Singh said this would make people financially independent.
