New Delhi, Aug 20 (ANI): Pakistan's ambassador to New Delhi defended his decision to meet Kashmiri separatists earlier this week, a move that prompted India to call off planned high-level talks with the Pakistan government. He said that Kashmiri leaders are legitimate stakeholders in peaceful and viable resolution of the problem. Employees in Kashmir stage protest to demand better wages

Srinagar, Aug 20 (ANI): Over a hundred furious government employees staged a protest in Jammu and Kashmir to demand better wages and regularisation of jobs. Demanding better treatment, the employees under the banner of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) shouted slogans against the State government in Srinagar on Wednesday and said the government has not fulfilled the terms of agreement yet. Reportedly, on August 17, a high level delegation of EJAC met Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s political secretary, Tanveer Sadiq, to discuss the issues. Chennai, Aug 17 (ANI): Minister of State for Heavy Industries, Pon Radhakrishnan, met a delegation of fishermen from his home state, Tamil Nadu who urged him to find a solution to a range of issues. One of the issues that came up in the meeting was the arrest of fishermen by Sri-Lankan authorities, which is just across a narrow straight from the province. The fishermen sought solution to this problem among several others. There are sections in favour of an agreement that would facilitate fishermen from both countries to fish in each others' waters. New Delhi, Aug 16 (ANI): The Indian lawyers have approved of the statement given by the Chief Justice over judges’ appointment bill which has been recently passed unanimously in both houses of the Parliament. Chief Justice of India, R.M Lodha, said he hoped that judiciary, executive and Parliament are allowed to work independently and without any interference. He was speaking at a function organized by the Supreme Court Bar Association.
