Politicos react after Omar says UPA should have awarded Vajpayee with Bharat Ratna

New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Monday after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that Congress-led UPA government should have conferred Bharat Ratna to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. BJP leader Sambit Patra said that he agreed with Abdullah's statement. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut also welcomed Abdullah's statement. However, he added that Abdullah should have thought about it when UPA was in power. JD (U) leader Ali Anwar and KC Tyagi said that they didn't object giving Bharat Ratna to Vajpayee but felt that there were even other freedom fighters whom similar honour should be given. Both were dressed in white Indian ethnic clothes ‘Kurta-Pyjamas’ and wrapped themselves in stole to beat the winter chill that engulfed the capital. “Shri Amitabh Bachchan met the Prime Minister,” read a post on the Twitter handle @PMOIndia, along with a photograph of the two of them. Soon after the meeting, Modi put up a photo of the meeting on his Facebook page. New Delhi, Dec 18 (ANI): The Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha' wants to install Nathuram Godse's bust at public places in cities across India, national president Chandra Prakash Kaushik said on Friday. Talking to mediapersons in New Delhi, he said that he will write a letter to the central government asking for space. He added that if roads can be named after Aurangzeb who killed so many Hindus, why cant Godse's statues be not installed. Modi govt may announce Bharat Ratna for Vajpayee on his birthday, politicos react

New Delhi, Dec10 (ANI): The Narendra Modi government is thinking to confer the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. According to reports, a formal announcement in this regard is expected to be put in public domain on December 25 when the nation will celebrate Vajpaye's leader's 90th birthday. As per the reports available, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, which was voted to power this May, may bestow its first Bharat Ratna on Vajpayee on January 26 next year. Reacting over this veteran BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi said that no one deserves Bharat Ratna more than Vajpayee. Mathura MP and former Bollywood actress, Hema Malini, also echoed similar views. Shiv Sena leader Anant Geete said that his party wants Bharat Ratna to be awarded to the former prime minister.
