Authorities rope in residents to clean holy river Ganges in Allahabad

Allahabad/Patna, Oct 27 (ANI): State administration of Uttar Pradesh undertook a massive drive by including local residents to clean up holy River Ganges in Allahabad. Hundreds of officials and volunteers cleaned up the bank and swept the nearby roads. The government has also planned to stop direct discharge of drains into the river. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched a nationwide cleanliness mission to raise awareness and better sanitation among citizens under the banner of 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan' or Clean India Mission.
