Agartala city reaps the benefits of peace in the state

Agartala, Aug 29 (ANI): Tripura was once reeling under the impact of insurgency which had hampered its development. However, with the gradual decline of militant activities over the last few years, the state has been making tremendous progress. Agartala city is a proof of this change. Small and big industries, educational institutes, shopping malls, hospitals and better road connectivity - the city is witnessing a change. Emphasis on infrastructure development has resulted in better roads, education and health care facilities, thereby improving the living conditions of the public. With a decline in militancy, investors are also showing interest in the state and a good number of industries have come up in and around Agartala. Indian Army and militants locked in fierce gun battle in Kupwara

Kupwara, Aug 23 (ANI): Fierce gun battle is going on between Indian army and militants in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. Acting on an intelligence input, soldiers launched a search operation in Gugerpati area to nab ultras on Friday evening. The extremists hiding in the area opened fire at soldiers, leading to exchange of fire. Militants have been frequently attacking security bases in Kashmir since the 1990s, when there was a full-blown insurgency against Indian rule in a region over which India and Pakistan fought two of their three wars.
