Trivandrum/ Mumbai, June 14 (ANI): Mumbai city of Maharashtra continues to suffer from the problem of water logging due to high tidal waves that hit the shore on June 13. People in Mumbai are suffering from water logging as well as traffic jams which came as after effects of high tide. At some places, shanties were washed away and cars stood half-submerged in water. Several tiles along Marine Drive were damaged. The workers of BMC are trying hard to clear roads so as to ease traffic flow for the residents. Jun 14, 2014

Japanese firms going green to protect environment

Japan, June 10 (ANI): ORIX Corporation has been operating "Agatsuma Biomass Power Plant" in Gunma Prefecture of Japan. The plant is the country's third-largest wood chip-fired thermal power station. Agatsuma Biomass Power Plant uses 100 per cent wood chip biomass as fuel to heat a boiler. And then, using the steam from the boiler to power a turbine to generate electricity. This plant has a power generation capacity of 13,600 kW, with annual power transmission at 85 million kWh to local household and business consumers. The use of biomass resources as an alternative to fossil fuels, not only helps to reduce CO2 emissions, but also enables more environmentally friendly power generation through the use of thermal recycling technology. Politicos condemn MCGM's direction to Campa Cola residents to vacate in 72 hours

New Delhi, June 10 (ANI): Politicos condemned the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai's (MCGM) alternative to the residents of the illegal flats in Campa Cola compound to hand over the keys to their flats to the civic body or face "legal action". BJP leader Satyapal Singh and Shiv Sena leader Vinayak Raut said that it is unfortunate that the residents are asked to vacate their place when the monsoon is approaching.
