New Delhi, March 28 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Friday rejected the plea filed by parents of December 16 gang rape victim to try the juvenile convicts in regular court and also PIL filed by Subramanian Swamy for giving fresh interpretation to the term 'juvenile' in the statute which fixes 18 year as the age of attaining majority. The court said that since the Parliament has passed such a law, there is no need to interfere with the age limit. Swamy said that he will move the PIL again after the central government changes following the upcoming general elections. Mar 28, 2014

Mumbai/ New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): Political leaders and social activists on Thursday welcomed the court’s verdict in the Shakti Mill photojournalist gangrape case of August 22, 2013. A sessions court in Mumbai has convicted all the four accused in the Shakti Mill photojournalist gangrape case. The court has also convicted the four accused in another gangrape case of a telephone operator. The 23-year-old photojournalist was assaulted while she was on task at the abandoned factory. Another accused, who is a minor is tried in the juvenile court. A 362-page charge sheet was registered against four of the denounced in October. The guilty, all unemployed adolescent men inhabited a close-by slum. New Delhi, Dec 16 (ANI): A year passed by and the grieved parents of the Delhi gang rape victim, often dubbed as 'Nirbhaya' waiting for a change in Indian laws, voiced their feelings about the entire episode that had once outraged the entire country and said that the accused juvenile must be punished. On December 16, 2012, a 23-year-old physiotherapy student was gang raped for an hour and tortured with an iron rod on a moving bus in New Delhi.
