The construction of a border road between Assam and Nagaland to benefit villagers

New Sonowal, Feb 08 (ANI): The construction of a 23km long pucca road from Gauri Chauwa under Tipabor sub-division to New Sonowal by the PWD is in full swing. There are 17 villages within this stretch, mainly engaged in agriculture. Earlier, the villagers used to face many problems in transporting goods and availing services. The construction of the road as well as 7 new bridges has come as a ray of hope for the people who are expecting their lives to improve now. The project has been allotted a budget of Rs 20 crores. The construction of the pucca road has given hope of better business to this group of students from Kherimiya village who started vegetable farming recently. These youngsters, who are from poor families, have taken up farming to support their education and to supplement their family income. Feb 8, 2014
